Cars lined up for the start of the 1960 Dixie 300 at Atlanta International Raceway! In the picture are the '60 Chevrolets of Tom Pistone (#59) and Roz Howard (#18). It was the first NASCAR race at Atlanta, which was won by Fireball Roberts in a Pontiac. Cotton Owens, Jack Smith, Bobby Johns, and Fred Lorenzen rounded out the top five. The race was 200 laps, had 12 lead changes, and an average speed of 112 miles per hour.
