and at first I thought the cut out was just the shadow cast by the hub, but now I see the edge of the drum

 

I remember this car with the added V8. Pat G finally got his hands on it and took making identical to the way Ike raced it with the GMC Wayne 12 port.

So is this the car that became the McMullen roadster or did Tom already own it here? I can’t be sure that the pictured guy is Tom, or was that the truck driver that sold the car to Tom?
Some say Tom took out the flathead and put in the Chevy but Pat Ganahl believed it was already SBC powered when Tom bought the car. In any event, it’s one of the most celebrated ‘32 Highboys of all time.
