It would make for a hot-***ed radiator if you put in the usual spot.

    Hello,

One day, my wife and I were on our way to see our granddaughter. We were going shopping and to lunch with her for a summer weather excursion. She grew up with us from 6 months old to the middle school years. He lifestyle was due to her parents getting new jobs and a “new kid on the block…” pun intended.

The reason was the new jobs were filled with obstacles and it took a lot of time to get adjusted and functioning correctly. All the time, a little 6 month old granddaughter came to us as the main care givers and concerned grandparents. It was a new step, we had a son and now we are the main influence for our granddaughter’s activities and learning the steps along the way.

So, as we were looking forward to the nice lunch and afternoon get together, my wife saw a cool yellow 55 Chevy on the on ramp to the freeway going our direction. The first thing we noticed was the lowered rake most notable on So Cal hot rod sedans. No lowest s****ing to the ground look or a tail dragger look. Just a clean 60s style 55 Chevy out for a weekend drive on a typical sunny day with blue skies and slightly warm temperatures.

By the time we caught up with the 55 Chevy, it was going in our direction with a smiling driver and friend. The stance was perfect and the color combination was a good contrast to the “nature” background as we both flew by headed north west.

    Note:

No , I did not go fast to get away from the 55 Chevy. I saw it in the fast lane and took a cool outside mirror photo. Point and shoot with the digital camera, like we used to do back in the late 60s with the 35mm film cameras. Pre focus and shoot into the outside mirror usually give a different look to the action. I was getting ready to take some action movies of the 55 Chevy going down the highway... but...

He changed lanes behind us and sped up to get over to the far right hand lane. That leads to a very busy off ramp heading to a great restaurant laden shopping center, for an outdoor dining experience. YRMV

This car belonged to a guy in Kansas City Kansas. I first saw it in 1975 and many times over the next several decades. The owner p***ed away and his family had it but I believe it may have been sold. It had quite a reputation in KCK. When Car Craft Magazine came to KC in 1980 it made the issue.

  28. Oh COOL! Thanks for that info. The guy that has it now said the owner/builder p***ed, and it had been p***ed around to a few different guys, he said it was his turn to own it now. A buddy of mine that saw it the night I did remembered the car. He said somebody had taken the big cam out of it because it use to be way more radical than it is now. I love the car. Very cool.
