That's a great looking seat! Best of both worlds, comfortable and functional and vintage looking! Can't wait to get mine, thank you Metaltwister.

I dont want to hyjack this thread because its a pretty sweet one. But the quick answer is yes... the back flips forward and back to about 45 degree angle from the straight up position. The bottom on this one flips up for access under the seat but they dont have to have any adjustments at all if not wanted. This one gets seat sliders as well for the back and forward seat adjustment. I hope to have this one all finished up tonight, painted, and boxed for delivery AM tomorrow. I will shoot some pics when it's done and start another thread. I will post a forward link here for review when its done.
    Thanks guys
    M.T.

Are the front seat springs from a 30-31 Model A roadster and 32 roadster the same?

Picture 003.jpg wpdsc02581.jpg View attachment 2679180 View attachment 2679180 I have received several request for a 34 style seat with the side wings. After a little research I made this seat with the wings. It does the flip up as well as the adjustable back. I think a fixed back seat without the handle showing could look fairly close to original with the right upholstry on it.

Nice job guys, I just rebuilt my 32 window seat, and I need to make one complete for my 34 This gives me some good ideas
@383deuce have you seen this thread?

  8. Yes I have talked to him on the HAMB about a 3 window seat. But I still want to make my own as it will be more like an original as yours is.
Thanks for thinking of me on it.

  9. M.T.'s seats are a thing of beauty; the "wings" will really add to their factory look. Almost a shame to cover them up w/ upholstery!

Well thanks Robb... one the nicesest compliments we have ever received. But reality is it does get covered up and to be honest if the foam & upholstry is done correctly one wouldnt know if it was stock seat or not. For a more original feel and look I also build these in the fixed back style as well. (Non Adjustable Back)

The seat looks amazing.. I was wondering with the recliner lever could you adapt an inside door handle from the 33-34 Ford. It would give a factory sorta look.

The stem coming off off the recliner is a splined shaft with a threaded hole in the center much like a window crank. I havent played around with the handles mainly do to s lack of time. A retro style handle of some kind might make it look much better? Or just make it fixed back and forget the handle all together?

for all it's worth, this is a '34 coupe seat. 100_8640.JPG

It's gone if anyone's asking. I wish that I'd have kept it as I desperately need one for my 3-window !

When I built my avatar roadster, I bought a Glide seat for it. It is still in the car 16 years later, with over 40k comfortable miles on it. It was at a bit pricey to start with, but has returned all those 40k miles VERY comfortably on these old bones. I highly recommend one if you are looking for a sturdy and comfortable seat!

32 truck seat is wider than the cars

  22. Anybody want 32 Tudor sedan pics?
The driver side slides on two tracks with adjustment stops.
The passenger side folds down and flips forward toward the dash for access to the rear seat.
The rear seat is wood framed with springs.
The upper cushion fits into two slots in the rail below the rear window.
The lower cushion slides in and locates with two holes for the pins on the front fixed riser.

According to Snyder’s, the seat bottom springs for the ‘33/4 coupe seats are the same - both the 3 window & the 5 window. The backrest springs are different thickness, depending upon 3 window or 5 window. I’ve made a few seats ‘33/4 seats, based upon patterns from original seats. I’ll include a few photos of an original ‘34 3 window seat and a seat that I made. IMG_5294.jpeg IMG_5295.jpeg IMG_5296.jpeg IMG_4670.jpeg IMG_4709.jpeg IMG_4737.jpeg
