Man! I love this one! Sh!T now I gotta build a t-bucket!

And a slant 6 so looks like they were copying Tex Smith.

 

i've seen articles in two or three early to mid-60s mags about using a vdub front end even for dragsters. not as pretty as a dropped axle but i've seen clean ones that look alright.

Gary Rickels of Lemon Grove, California , 1968 Rod & Custom. I think I have that copy in my collection. Thanks for the tip. Now that only goes back 57 years, fuzzy memory. That same year I was building up a 28 roadster with a 48 flathead engine and a bronze folding windshield ! ! Had a neighbor stitching up black and white tuck n roll upholstery for it. That neighbor is now long gone to the sky. Purchased the roadster body from Harold Looney of Vintage Auto Parts in Santa Ana. He got the body from San Diego. Sold to me for $75 minus doors and deck lid. His cost.

Dual quad Pontiac, white headers, cheater slicks and chrome wheels with Cal Custom knock-offs, that could have been my high school T if I had kept it longer. The goofy paint job, nah….

 

^^^^^Cool looking cheater slicks on the back! They resemble Marsh "checkered-flag" recaps but the side patterns look too straight.

Jack and Bob would look "just about right" for the role they might have been playing if their hats were taller and came to a point.....if you get my drift.
