I’ve got a 31 coupe with the stockish banger in it with a downdraft carburetor. I have the original model A linkage and need to figure out a way to make it work. I’d order a burns one but doesn’t look like they’ll be made. So what are you guys running for linkage?

I do not know if this helps any, but this is how i made mine for two downdraft carbs. I connected original A linkage to a rod pivoted in the middle and connected that to the carbs. So linkage connected to the carbs move opposite way. Not pretty, but works with Strombergs anyway.

Most banger downdraft intake manifolds have a boss to mount a bellcrank to elevate the linkage, and reverse direction for 81/94/97 carb. Have seen drawing of this bellcrank on other threads

cabby engine latest resized 1MB.jpg yes, you need a bell crank mounted to the manifold..someone was making these and listed them in the classified section...but that has been years ago...but you get the idea and one can be made with a piece of flat iron
    I also have

Here is a document from Charlie Yapp detailing making your own bell crank. When I got my Equalizer intake, it didn't have one so I made this. It works great with my dual 97s. I make my own link rods by threading some rod the proper length and installing the spring ends.

FYI… Burns Racing Equipment will be available through Millworks Hot Rod. The company was sold.

I had purchased a complete dual carb setup from the owner of Burns last year sometime and the company was for sale. I believe he was having health issues.
