The Tulsa showroom. I'm really happy with the way I've been treated and everything they've done so far. Here's a link. Click on the red ****on below the intro picture, and it'll bring up 100+ great pictures showing the car much better than I could have done. https://www.gatewaycl***iccars.com/vehicle/tul/592/1957-ford-custom let me know what you guys think.
I don't know why you're selling it, but that is one helluva nice Ford! Hope you have another one in the works.
Thanks guys. Much appreciated. If I was able to have another one in the works, I'd just keep this one. As much as I enjoyed building it, I enjoy driving it more. It's a very unique car, won't ever be mistaken for another car, lol. Health issues.....my smoking for 65+ years caught up with me.
Man, hate to hear you are having health issues Rich. Hope you get what you need for the 57. It is a great car.
Thanks Jeff. Nothing going on yet. I was going to send you a pm just to let you know it's kinda in your neighborhood, just forgot to do that. Speaking of Ok........have you heard anything about Okiedokie (Joe). I think he's from Broken Arrow, just about where my car is. I posted that question 5 or 6 months ago, haven't heard anything. Thanks again.
It’s always tough for me to look at another’s persons car for sale and it was 13 years ago when I bought our 56 Victoria. Style is in the eyes of the builder and for some a reason why when it’s time to sell will it be quick and easy or tough because the eyes looking to buy are never exactly the same as the builders. I really like 57 Custom coupes and looked at quite a few when I went out shopping. For me the “rum runner” was a big plus.. For the most part they needed to be “stock” looking (non descript) with slightly wider rims a big block and a 4-speed. I found a 57 and a 58 but they were gone when I was ready. As we look and buy cars; do we get what we can or p*** and shop on. I really like this 57 but there are parts I couldn’t live with but would overlook and change as soon as it was in my garage if I was close enough which this one is for sure. Guys I know and run with would defiantly know what and why it stays in my garage until it was right for me. For sure you could not build this car for the asking price and even with what I would do it would be in my budget. I hope it goes to a good home and lives on for the new owners!
Thanks for the response, Jimmy. I'm not sure you were talking about MY car when you said:.."I really like this 57 but there are parts I couldn’t live with". Not that I have a problem with the comment (I don't), but then you said "if I was close enough which this one is for sure". If you're still in Fountain Valley (a previous home for me), and the car is in Tulsa. That's 1440 miles. At any rate, my car is very unique, and it is a love it or hate it car, I know. That's alright, because I've gotten enough "I love it"s over the years to make me feel really good about my creation. And yeah, there are a few things I wish I could have done differently, but budget considerations in some instances took over. Additionally, there are reasons why I went the route I did that others may not realize. Any specific questions about why I went the way I did.......just ask. You won't hurt my feelings, lol. Thanks again.
Thanks for your response back and can’t disagree with anything you said. Currently I can’t do any more than look due to space and not really wanting to sell our 56 and being 81 I’m pretty sure I’m done. As for the changes I’ll do that too as they are really not important just a style I like. Even thou it doesn’t relate to your car when I was looking 14 years ago I was hoping not to find a perfect car, right color, great price, and it having a Continental kit.
