I mean there was already a hole in the bottom of the fender might as well put it to good use

I'm going to have to get it bolted up a little better to line things up better....maybe.

Focusing back on the electrical I noticed that the buss for the cig lighter/charge had been clipped by the previous owner. I contacted the company that made it and he said that it just needs another wire running from the pink to that fuse....I guess I'm having a hard time visualizing what's involved.

Take any fuses out of the front that engage that buss bar, release the tabs and pull the buss bar, crimp a wire onto one of the open spaces on the buss bar, snap the buss bar back in place, crimp a terminal on the new wire, snap into the desired socket, and put the fuses back into the panel.

I think I got this right. The speedo and clock are 42 Ford and the gauges are from an old boat.

Feeling motivated, sold some parts and bought a new radiator, got lucky at the junkyard and got a nice driveshaft and shifter linkage. Bleed the brakes get some power steering lines then in theory I should be able to drive it around the yard

The radiator mounts, inner fenders, and extensions all bolt up thru the front yoke; wonder if something is bent or tweaked down there. Probably already seen the pictures before; but maybe something will stand out.

Not the same car, but with my '59, from having it so far apart with the radiator support removed and all, we had to loosen a lot and manhandle it back into shape.

This came about when we were putting the hood back on and it was a tad skewed to one side. How well does the hood line up?

You may have to do as far back as the firewall to start aligning things. Got any parts leftover? I had some hood support pieces in a box in the trunk. It took a while to see where they went.

So I noticed that part 16141 has a bit of flexibility. I'm thinking a couple of rubber pucks will help center that

Looks like it fits in there now, and you can go on to the next piece of the puzzle.

    Not the best picture; but....

Retainers on common terminals are the little tab the arrow is pointing at, there is one on each side of the terminal, so 2 tabs to release a single terminal.

If it is a 4 position buss bar there will be 8 tabs to disengage.

Need to poke in from the fuse side.

It was like driving your house through the car-wash. I think they said there was around 9 tornadoes in the area. Everything in my car stayed pretty dry.

Job hunting getting me down so I finished the trunk, covered the fuel filler hole and cleaned up the Merc taillight opening.
    20250530_130925.jpg

....and got the bumper guards in place

Got a little more work done on the trunk floor today. The hole in front of the tank is going to be a little trap door so I don't have to wiggle my fat **** under the car if I need to acces anything.

What the heck is going on with this thing? Last September I made a temp set up to start my engine and it fired almost right away and I tried it a few months ago without any issue.
Today I'm trying to fine tune the timing and it keeps backfiring and cranking super slow. The battery was just under 12v so I have it on the charger right now.
    It's a mid 80s 351w HO all stock

no the battery is super clean and new.
I tried putting a socket on the crank and I had to put a bit of effort on it.

I pulled the plugs and they were covered in gas. Got the stater tested and that's all good. Took a few things off the front of the engine and got a ratchet on it better and it turns, but I noticed a ticking noise from the carb. I'll get the battery checked tomorrow. Hoping it's something stupid

Ok update #2...starter tested good, the battery tested good, but when I brought it in he quick hooked it up and said the batt was completly dead. Not sure how that works when I had 11v on it a couple of days ago.
