Same issue for me, I have some immovable work stuff that popped up so I might have to fly in just for the weekend instead of driving.

A reminder, If you haven't booked your ferry trips you need to be getting that done. The Anacortes to Sidney ferry is still very iffy so it is Blackball out of Port Angeles to Victoria https://www.cohoferry.com/schedule-fares
Or a ferry from Vancouver BC to Victoria https://www.bcferries.com/routes-fares/schedules/daily/TSA-SWB

Right now I figure to leave the day before we have to catch the ferry and spend the night in Poulsbo and let my wife do her Poulsbo thing and only have 62 miles to go to get to the ferry rather than a six hour drive over the pass.

We always drive the south route. Much easier pace and lots of orchards etc. I drove truck on all those roads in a previous life, and the trucks all use the trans Canada. The only trucks that use the south route are the ones that have to pick up and deliver along the way. Makes for a nicer drive. ( I used to be one of those assholes riding your rear bumper. Sorry.)
I don't have a 32, just a 62 and two of my favourite people in the whole world live with my daughter and son in law in Langford, so we are lucky and have a place to stay.
Looking forward to showing the grandsons a good time. The short fella in my avatar that learned how to pee like his big brother is now nine, so it's time they had an indoctrination.
I just need to finish painting the 63, so I can pull the 62 into the shop, change the cylinder head cause it has a burnt valve, and do the bearings and syncros in the transmission.
But there's lots of time left yet, eh?

Getting down to short strokes on car prep. Skitter scatter better get at er.
Our tour organizer says we’re at 24 for folks heading west in our little magical mystery tour ;) from Alberta, and I met one of the new fellas at a show and shine in a little town north of me couple weeks ago.
    He’s rolling in a pretty cool 34.

    IMG_8209.jpeg

And yes this is a bump to see if there are any more folks willing to post pics of their rides before showtime :p:p:p.

We are thinking about canceling because we both have been dealing with health issues. I hate to miss it but don't think I am up to all the walking.

I finally fixed the c-notch that didn’t line up with my axle. I just need to reassemble the back of the car. After that I’m good to go.

Due to work obligations around that time and family I decided to fly out with the wife and kid instead of driving.

We're staying at the Huntingdon, so we'll be close to the action.

Good luck to all who are still trying to get a car ready and making the trek.

Mr.48 Chev... I'm 80 and a few years ago at the LARS I finally realized I can't do all that walking. I looked around at scooters and settled on a Travel Scoot. Not the cheapest but breaks down easily into a very compact package and is all aluminum so weighs around 35 lbs. I bought the good battery which I fully charge Thursday night before the show and it lasts both days with everyone that doesn't have their own riding mine. It's cruising almost constantly. I've had it for several years and to several big runs including Louisville and it has sure saved my knees although I'm scheduled for a new one.

I've been eyeballing a 4 wheel scooter but it isn't just my knees, my wife hasn't been that healthy this year and we just decided to cancel making one close by room available and one more entry to add to the 15 or so that were left according to the Email that I got from them this morning.

I'd actually thought about towing my boat to Anacortes and taking it to Victoria and parking it at the dock in the inner harbor. The big cost there is getting the boat to the launch site and getting it back home as my truck drinks gas faster than a bar fly downs shots at happy hour.

Still debating about going for four days, may just show up on the Sunday. Not fully recovered from my strokes yet so I may cancel my hotel reservation. I'll wait another month or so.

By the way if you can make it try the Legislature restaurant for the ABSOLUTE BEST strwberry chease cake!!!! Go to the building in the morning to make a reservation...

It would be nice if all the HAMB cars had some ID pointing that out!

My '32 5 W was going to be drivable this year but due to those damn strokes i'll make NWDD '28....

It sucks when I have to warranty work that I didn't do.

Just about a month to go and I finally registered along with my camping spot at Island View Beach where I will have my teardrop trailer. Hopefully, I will have most of the major issues sorted by then.

OK folks, just realized we are at the four week marker. Must be some more HAMB folks that are registered and heading to Victoria.
I’m still doing some tweaks cause, well you know….its a hot rod.

Wow, you've got a lot to button up in 4 weeks! Nothing motivates a hot rod build like a deadline!

Wax on wax off….. I don’t usually tidy up anything before a show, but this time I am. More to do, but not much. Just signed up for the big dinner….. even the wife is looking forward to the trip.
