70's style street machines

A 300 SS????....

 

It looks like a '68, any SS models were hardtops, convertibles, and El Caminos. It must be a ghost!

 

Looks like a '68 grill. '68 SS's didn't wear the SS396 badges on the mid fender area, just a 396 call out in the side marker light, and SS in the grill. As far as a 300 SS396 (post car), It definitely was a thing in '69 (probably '68 too). Seen it, new the guy that bought it new very well. It was*****-knuckle brown, rubber floor covering, 375 horse, 4sp. I could have bought the car minus the BB late 80s, very rough, but a driver w/307. Hind sight I shoulda...

 

Could it be a hardtop with padded roll bar, the chrome door trim seems to run the full door length

 

Here's a 300 Deluxe powered by a ZL-1 427..... This thing is the bee's knees....
