Looking for some suggestions for AC options for my ‘54 Country Squire.
It has a 292 Yblock. Not needing to stay original, just comfortable.

  2. In that case just roll the windows down and drive 80mph. Hehe.

I used Classic Auto Air in my 55 bird. They don’t show it for a 54, but it might be worth a call. There were some problems setting it up, all,of which could have been solved easily before I installed it.

That said, I’ve had Vintage air in a couple other cars, it can’t be beat. If you’ve got a heater, think about the under dash, probably something in the heritage series. Cool only. Not quite enough knee space as it is in a bird, or I’d have that.

We drove back from the beach yesterday in 105° heat. As we approached the highway my friend said “at least there will be a nice breeze on the highway” but it was crawling and we were stop and go for an hour ☹️

    Thanks!
Classic has a kit for a ‘55 Fairlane that I might be able to make fit, or I’ve used lots of t-bird parts successfully on the squire.

    Vintage Air.

I will no longer install any other brand.

If you want to follow up on Classic, send me a pm. I’ll tell you what I found.

My dad bought a '68 country squire to take the family cross-country to? No, not Wally World sadly, Searcy, Arkansas for my older sisters graduation. And of course, he did not get the AC. He did get the black vinyl interior, so we stuck to the seats (no need for seat belts). Windows down the entire way!
Back to topic, Vintage Air. I installed it on my 41 PU. Works great and straight forward install. I did the heat/cool/defrost. Great tech support too!

  11. I’ve installed VA a Classic in tri five cars. In those cars they are equal. Cool good and ease of install. The last VA in a tri five required more component assembly. Last VA in a 67-72 Chevy pu. Only need help to start a bolt. Opinion

I've used Vintage Air in a number of products and they have all worked well. The major problem is the space they take up under the dash. I generally end up having to shorten or take out the glove box.

This is what I have for my '54 Ranch Wagon. Not sure how well it will cool the rear area but it should be fine for the front seat area. Not installed yet so can't say for sure.

Be totally different and cut the top off to be the only wagon convertible in existence. :)
Problem solved. Lots of A with no C behind it.
Crack myself up. :D Just kidding.
    Vintage Air is good.

Sounds like vintage air is the answer, and I’ve got a project for next winter

One more for Vintage Air. The Gen II super heat/cool/def that we installed in my brother's Lemans 14 years and 70,000 miles ago is still cooling like new on the original charge. Had the heater valve stay open 2 years ago, part in stock at Summit, I think it was $56, fixed in 20 minutes. Very happy with VA.

I have used and installed Vintage Air units for over 30 years. The best, far and away. I have one in my sedan delivery that cools so we'll, I sometimes open the coil vent a little to blend in some heat.
