Can some one help me to identify these rear shock mount bracket? I didn't find the parts number in the book and left and right are same length i want to mount them on my 1940 rear banjo with ford 1940 up rear hydraulic brakes
The 46-48 they have different part number on it, different length right side is longer and at bottom are bent, this is straight
That's what i was thinking, maybe houdaille? I have a old catalog but can't see the pn on it, thanks for the tip
They are after market tube shock lower mounts for the rear axle. As mentioned the ford parts they emulate are not the same side to side as to clear the pan hard bar.
I took some pix of an aftermarket (Drake I think) rear shock set up with panard bar on my '41 pickup. Same frame as '40 car/pickup. I made the upper bracket so the shocks would pivot in parallel axis. the bottom piece bolts to the backing plate/axle using the stock holes with longer bolts. the top of the bracket includes a place to attach the panard bar; I'm pretty sure it came in a kit from Drake. I covered this install in my thread in the link below.
That's nice, with this kit i have got also the upper bracket, need to figure out how i can use them on the model A cross member
Those are aftermarket upper shock mounts for the back of a 46-8 You’re holding it upside down. The stud is on the bottom and faces towards the front of the car. the flange of the cross member goes into that little slot area. if the height of the A cross member is comparable to the 46 they should go right on I would assume
