Soooo.... I'm planning on building ladder bars for my 57 chevy gasser project. I'm going to build them outta square tubing, so I'm going to need some square threaded weld in bungs for my hiem joints. I'm planning on using 3/4 inch hiem joints, so 3/4 inch thread. The other thing is what size square tubing to use that would be best for ladder bars that would also work with the weld in bungs that are available? And also, who would be the best one stop shop, to order joints and bungs and adjusters, that are also good quality?? I just go crazy trying to piece together stuff from one place and another. Any advice would be wonderful!!!

Probably easier & far less time consuming to order bars & accessories already done ( might even be cheaper )

Get ready for the sky is falling crowd.
S&W Race cars in Spring City PA can handle all the ends. There's probably someone closer to you, though.
Also, they sell a 42'' gasser ladder bar with chromoly rod ends.

Check Racing Junk and dig around locally. Someone may have a set locally that were removed 50 years ago.

Midwest Control Products Corporation https://midwestcontrol.com/shop/ I have purchased numerous items from them. In addition the catalog gives a lot of information about hiem joint types, construction, material and sizes. Plus they sell clevis, cables and other useful stuff for the hot rodder.

Thanks pirate!!! Ive never heard of that place, but looks good, prices are fair. I have an idea of what I want my ladder bars to look like, and also need them to be a certain length. So buying a pre-made set ain't gonna cut it.

If you are set on square tubing and plan on doing any serious racing I would find the heaviest wall two inch tubing available, such as 3/16" or 1/4" wall.
You will need to custom make your threaded inserts based on the chosen tubing, about one inch thick, just relieve the weld seam and make sure to get good weld penetration, it also wouldn't hurt to plug weld them also.

Just realized you are building ladder bars, so two inch would look a bit odd but this 11/2"×.188 wall tubing would work with correctly located diagonal bracing.

Ya, 2 inch might look a little chunky. Do you think someone makes square bungs in 1.124?

I'm 99% sure nothing like that is available, need to find someone to drill and tap 3/4-16 (NF) in round stock and part off two pieces 1 inch long, grind four flats on each to fit tube, the extra weld in the corners will be a benefit anyway.

You may find the parts you want at an OffRoader supply.
