@mitch 36 and @K13 have a nicer one than I do, but here's where I'm at on mine.
'36 Chevy w/ '37 Cab. Chopped 3?". Not really sure how much. Updated front suspension. Rear end & suspension is '65 Chevelle, but I think the PO has it too far fwd (more work). Partially boxed frame. Large journal '69 327 bored .040, 11.5:1 pistons, Factory GM Duntov cam. Weiand WC4D 4X2 intake w/ 4 big logo 97s, Speedway ram horns, ugly aluminum slots (but they look like the '60s era I'm shooting for), Chinese aluminum radiator, HD Muncie 3 speed w/ Hurst shifter (shifter needs rebuild). Yes, that's a 60's Chevy truck master cylinder sitting on the cowl. Planning to use that and a slave cylinder, with manual disc drum combo (wish me luck). Much work to be done yet, and it's waiting patiently for me to finish some other stuff ('47 Buick & '49 Merc).

The dash is finished though, so you get an idea of where this is going. It's been modified for a '63 Rambler gauge panel and a push button start. That's a custom mixed purple (NAPA fleet color with more metallic added). Planning to have the fenders black. Most likely flat or satin, as they are rougher than the cab is and I'm getting too old for all this bodywork.

The running boards are done as well. They were rusted out where one of the mounts goes, so instead of trying to recreate the diamond pattern, I used some steel letters from ETSY and put my last name on there. Just sprayed them with bedliner for better endurance & less bodywork. I guess that means one of my sons will end up with it? Trying for a 60's shop truck look, but it will be far from a show car. Just a cool driver.

  3. Mines chopped 2" so yours must be pretty close to that by the look of it.

Posted here in numerous threads including a build thread. I inherited the truck from my brother when he passed in 2010. I spent several years working on the mechanicals before blowing it apart for paint, bodywork and interior. I’ve been driving it regularly since finishing the build in early fall of 2018. The colors are ‘63 Chevrolet Laurel Green and Lexus Starfire Pearl.

It’s my vision of what Chevy might have built if they offered a sport truck in 1958, it is probably best described as a mild custom.

Interior is a basic bench seat, upholstered door panels, kick panels, sunvisors and headliner covered in white vinyl. Carpet is green loop pile covering FatMat sound deadening and heavy jute padding. The 2 tone dash is shaved with SW Greenline gauges for volts, fuel, water temp and oil pressure. The GPS speedometer and tach are from Speedhut, their art department created custom faces to match the SW gauges. Other features include a 70’s GM tilt column and 3 spoke Grant wheel, Summit universal cab heater, Lokar “Lakester” door and window handles, brake and throttle pedals and a JVC/Kicker Bluetooth stereo system.

    IMG_4696.jpeg

Under the hood resides a mildly built ‘74 Chevrolet 454 backed by a TH400 and 3.55:1 Mopar Sure-Grip diff.
    IMG_4698.jpeg
The chassis is the factory ‘58 frame with a Nova front subframe, 2” drop spindles and a Total Cost Involved rear suspension flip kit. Stopping is handled by power assisted Wilwood front discs and Mopar 10” rear drum brakes. Exhaust is 2 1/2” duals with an H-pipe and Flowmaster Delta 50’s.

    KIMG2087.JPG KIMG2089.JPG 10003.jpeg I'll play. My 1948 F3.
Channeled 4.5 inches, zee'd rear frame and notched frame for the front axle to get it down.
Just started shaking it down. Still some details to finish, trim, interior bits etc.

Regular driver except for salty winter roads. 62 Mercury, 300 six with offy dual port manifold and quadrajet carb. A833 Mopar overdrive manual tranny I adapted to it. English front suspension and lowered stock springs in back. IMG_6144.jpeg IMG_6143.jpeg I just got the seats back from 2 years in upholstery jail, complete with wrinkles and spots of glue all over them. IMG_6810.jpeg
Not super happy about them, but it was a trade, albeit a very very lopsided trade in the other guy's favour. Oh well.

  22. One that got away.

I decided to do some "adulting" so sold it to cover off some business risk I thought we had (cash was king)
Turned out the business risk didnt happen, and the pile of cash didnt make me happy like the truck did. It was my daily for about 5 years - SBC and auto with Jag front & rear and I have never had a hot rod that was so easy to drive.

I had both of these together for a short time. The '49 was kinda street roddy with IFS, air, tilt, cruise, PS, Pb. The '36 is bare bones basic. 327, th350, Ford 8". The '49 went down the road, '36 I still have and is my fair weather daily driver.
