This year's Model 40 Mayhem was based at the beautiful Paris Landing Lodge at Paris Landing, TN. We had a good turnout with a great bunch of people and some of the best weather and scenery we could hope for. A small group met at WEEDETR Street Rod Components facility and caravanned together to Paris.
Dale and Vince did an amazing job putting this run together. I have been trying to get my stuff together for this for a couple of years, and now that I did, it is a "must " for me. I don't know if this event can be fully understood and appreciated unless you take part. We had a shop tour, a beautiful "home base", and ran through a civil war camp, cruised through a beautiful recreational area (land between the lakes), had lunch at a burger joint on a barge in a marina, and went to the biggest antique store I think I have ever been in. So many people comment about how they are sick of a static "sit and polish" kind of show. If you enjoy driving your car, and hanging out with a great group of people, this is exactly what you are looking for. My girlfriend is not a car person by nature, so this was our first big "car event", and I was nervous as to whether or not she would enjoy it. She made new friends, and truly had a good time. By the time we were back home, I had about 2600 more miles on my 33. I would be tickled if someone gets the distance plaque away from me next year, but you will have almost 1100 miles to compete with, because I definitely plan to make it again next year!
Maybe next year I’ll get this back together and take a long ride on out. Dale, you & Vince made it look really fun!!!!!!!
