Well folks, it's only about a month away! Bonneville Speed week.....August 2nd-8th 2025 Who all is going? Watcha bringing? Race car or hotrod or both? I look forward to this event every year. If you've never been, GO!!!!! https://scta-bni.org/bonneville-general-info
Can’t stand the August heat ….will be there for World Finals. With my luck it will be in the 80’s this year…
We were there one time as spectators in 2001. Would love to get back! If you have never been, do yourself a favor and GO! Gene.
I hear you about the heat. Especially as we get older. Last year I got dehydrated.....couldn't get my body temp down. Had to visit the EMS guys for an IV. Thank god those guys are out on the salt! Learned some lessons, hope to be better prepared this year

I'd love to go but the heat makes it a no go. My days of going to the Colorado River in mid August without A/C are LONG gone. And I've still got a few years until 80.
I kinda doubt it. My youngest grandson wants to go but my wife insists I'm roofing the house this year. Dave
Dave, at your age it's too dangerous to be out in the heat putting shingles on. You better take the grandson to B-ville.
I've sent in the entry form for my roadster (#199) again this year...after a tough, yet successful 2024 season. (We set a new SCTA world record of 212.301mph in F/Fuel Roadster at USFRA World of Speed that got me a red hat...after an engine fire at Speedweek.) This year we've taken the training wheels off and will be running a blown 296 ci Emery-Rodeck billet hemi, which puts us in D/Blown Fuel Roadster. I've got the change-over to the blown V8 mostly complete, and hope to fire the new engine in the next week or so. The current record in that class is 241 mph and some change and has stood since 1981. The photo below is from Speedweek last year. The car will look about the same, but with an 8-71 blower up top and an additional zoomie header poking out of the other side.
I'll be there. I'm thinking of bringing my Flathead powered P-38 Drop Tank with a for sale sign on it. Wayno
Are there any build pics…especially chassis pics? What are the frame rails? Freaking fantastic Hot Rod!
Thanks! There are a few pics on my Instagram profile (basskustom). I actually started putting together a build thread for here once, but got sidetracked and didn’t get very far. It takes a long time to sort through all the build photos and write the text. Anyway, I made the frame rails from 2x6 rectangular tubing. The chassis was built here in my shop, starting with those frame rails. It’s quite a bit different than any hot rod chassis for the street would be…this is purely a race car built for land speed racing only.
