Had to cut a wrench so I could tighten the upper starter nut. I am glad I put studs on the starter holes these starters are heavy.
Plugs are in, coil is on. Going to order a oil pressure switch ,and if i cant get the screw off the points maybe a new distributor
Thank you guys, almost destroyed it! Installed the new points and gapped them at .019. Now I know what that screw does
I put an oil pressure gauge on the side of the block. I want to make sure I have oil pressure before I start it - by priming the engine. Unfortunately the tool that I got does not fit my engine, so now I am in search
Sad sad day ,put oil in the engine , getting ready to prime it and i cant get the oil pump shaft to turn. Thought my battery was weak on the drill so i put a screw driver and it did not want to turn. The engine was rebuild about 7 years ago was still in the metal crate we I got it. Going to take the engine out again and see what happen...
Rust inside the pump. Im sure glad I tried priming the engine, cant imagine the damage it would have caused
It has been a long couple of nights ,but there is set screw that holds the pump in place . Is there anything i should know about it when its time to put the new pump back ?
New pump is on!!! Cleaning up the oil pan ,got new oil pan bolts and running a die to clean the treads on the block
40 + psi. Since I was there I did not like the way the belt align so I went a ahead and ordered a alternator bracket for this engine, what a difference. I also notice the side cover gasket leaking so I ordered one. Plan to put the distubutor before I install the engine..... again View attachment 6457028 View attachment 6457028 View attachment 6457032 View attachment 6457032
