Novice mechanic here. I need to replace my shackle bushings. How do I relieve the tension on the bolts?

Changing out the tie rod ends too.

& SO-CAL shipping was fast. Ordered on the 1st and arrived in South Florida on the 3rd.

Jack the frame a little so the spring goes up, and slide a 1/2 or 3/4” piece of wood between the bottom of the spring eye and the axle. Let the weight down until the exact point where the shackle is loose. Remove the shackle and push in the new bushings. Might need to raise or lower a little so the spring is in the perfect spot to slide the shackle back in. Then do the other side.
