Does anyone know offhand how much is added to the kingpin width by a set of 46-47 juice brakes? I've been looking for a couple days now online and coming up short. At least not definitively. I think they add 8-1/2" overall.

What? Do you mean how far from kingpin to mounting surface?

  3. As compared to what; Model A, or?

The wheel mounting surface on Lockheed juice brakes is 3-1/4" out from the spindle flange.

Centerline of the kingpin to the mounting surface of the wheel on the brakes.

I beams are spoken about by the kingpin measurement. Useful axle width is where the wheels bolt on.

So you ask a question and then frigging disrespect the far more than knowledgeable gent who gives you an honest answer because it wasn't written how you wanted it to be? Seems to me you could get off your high horse and go out and measure from spindle center to the face he measured from and call it good.

  7. I was moving some stuff around and grabbed another picture as you evidently don't have any of the stuff you are asking about to actually measure yourself.

If you add 1-1/2" to 3-1/4" you get 4-3/4" from the kingpin center to WMS; then double that to 9-1/2" and add that to what ever width axle you have (or don't have yet) you will have your WMS-WMS dimension.

Just in case; the 2nd picture is an early spindle which also measures 1-1/2".

Thank you so much. I am gaming a build idea and I figured this info would be easily found. It was not.
