Been a while since I updated this thread mainly because the car hasn’t been running. I finally had time to troubleshoot it today after being motivated by @Lloyd's paint & gl*** taking his 55 to the track. So, I found my failed part that seems to be shorted out keeping me from having fun the last few months…. I got a new one on order and should be back in business Monday.

I realize I never followed up on this. The coil didn’t fix it so seems my MSD box must be bad. I need to verify that and then likely send it off for repair. Car has been sitting for even longer now.

I use to use Mother's Mag Cleaner and #4 steelwool with very limited pressure, the slots turned out great then a coat of good wax every time I washed my 66 Chevy II kept the slots shinny looking for several year's.
    Sweet looking She-Velle G-Man.

can those old MSD boxes be repaired? The one in my 33 from the late 80s went bad.

This one is a pretty new 7AL-2. I think it is way beyond what this car needs, but what my buddy that owned it for a while chose to put in it. Not sure about repairing the old ones but seems the new ones can be.

Drug a barn find out of the building today and headed to the car wash. Maybe I’ll get motivated to get it going soon.

Well, it’s at least clean now and doesn’t look as much like a neglected barn find. It is probably my easiest car to get going…just not as driveable as some of the others. I do need to get it running again though. It’s lots of fun at least around town.

Thanks man. I get kind of excited about it again after not being able to drive it for quite a while now. I do still need to find some 15x8 slots for it. Every set I seem to come across doesn't have the backspacing I need to get the wheels in the wheelwells where they belong. I ***ume it is because they were from the 70's where it was cool to hang tires out. :D

GM cars have slowly taken over the shop…. Seems there are 6 Chevrolets, one GMC, and a lone Merc in the shop right now. I better put the 56 back in too to help with the ratio.
