Nice capture of the Drifters club of South Bay in Los Angeles. The location is Lion’s Dragstrip. The white buildings in the background are the multi-story apartment homes and the area where we used to play baseball as pre teens to junior high school. Our junior high school was several blocks from the apartments.

But, from anywhere at Lion’s Dragstrip, if one looked East across the farmer’s field and the tall metal structure that carries electrical lines from Los Angeles to the ocean can be seen in most Lion’s Dragstrip photos. It was the stance and appearance of the white 1934 coupe that made people look. It looked fast just sitting in the pits or on the dragstrip. In this case, it was at Lion’s Dragstrip.

Whether it has/had red steel wheels or the ever popular Moon Spun Aluminum Discs, the look was there and it just said … “Let’s Race…” 50s-60s style. YRMV
