Hey Fellas, I'm trying to find info and pictures of this Sharp looking "Bobbed" Roadster. I have gone through all my little books and old hotrods, this is the only picture I can find... It was in a Peterson "MotorTrend" 100th anniversary of the car book... I swear I have seen other pictures and judging by the quality and staging of the photo I think it was probably a Hot Rod feature car in the late 50's...
Any info or pics would be greatly appreciated... I really like this car and would like to recreate or at least build my version of it... Or if it still exists maybe track it down... IMG_20250704_195915.jpg
The little blurb under the picture calls it an Home built Model A roadster... but It look more like a 26-27 Roadster cowl and windshield that was Bobbed maybe using A quarter panels in the back, honestly with only one picture I'm not sure. I do believe it's slightly channeled on 32 rails... I know one of you guys have seen this cool little roadster before!
    Thanks fellas! IMG_20250704_195915.jpg

My own rod is a bobtail A Roadster 28,body that I had found, was crashed in the trunk bad. As a Teen,I just cut off what I could not fix,and built the rest=Bobtail 28 A Roadster.

    Moriarty,
Thanks for the pictures of the article! I was able to zoom in and read the whole thing! ;)

I think I love this car so much because it is different and maybe even a little quirky! Sometimes I think we all get a little bit hung up on having a 32 or even an A roadster, I know I have. This car just really strikes a cord on how to be different and yet still have a very cl***y looking roadster!

It definitely would!!! They look like a 3rd degree burn waiting to happen!!! That is one thing I would have to change if I made my own version... Also it would be nice to have working doors!

Yep, a little quirky, but sure has the look! Wouldn’t change a thing, even if it wasn’t a Hot Rod Magazine cover car!

When I was a lot younger, I thought the extended cowl looked ugly. Now that I've actually worked on such cars, I can see the wisdom in a larger ****pit.

Yeah it can definitely throw the proportions off... But I feel like this car can pull it off...
Also Being 6'2" I can definitely appreciate it! LoL

That’s exactly what the Grabowski roadster looked like when it was “rediscovered”.

That car was San Diego car. I don't know the history of it but do know that the late Carl Burnett, of Antique Automotive owned it at one time. Carl spoke to me about it a few times and regretted getting rid of it.
