History 1950 Chrysler 331 hemi race car Kansas City

    "Automatic Transmission"? From what I can see from one shot, it looks to have an "in/out" box. Also, since Chrysler never made a hemi in 1950, we have to ***ume that is the year the car was originally built and the hemi was added later. That means the 331 could be any year up to 1958 (trucks had 'em), so it could be a short bell with decent heads. Seeing all that was left on the car, I'd bet that the intake they removed was something special, like hilborn injection.

    It could be better than it looks at first.

    Noticed on the right side of the tail the name "E. JAY DOLNER"... A well-respected Race car fabricator & owner for roughly seven decades from the West Coast, deceased 2014! Might have some interesting "tricks" from the period if he was involved!!
