Andy and Tonya had these made, then drove 500 miles to hang out in the heat! I'll let Andy tell you about the tailgate malfunction :D you are one helluva good friend Andrew 20250706_123808.jpg 20250706_123821.jpg

  3. Thank you Brother, you are one helluva good friend too! We had our Side by Side at the races for a pit vehicle, but Little Truckdoctor and Bill were running around on it when they called second round. Tonya and I were riding up to the staging lanes on Ruckus’s tailgate when the cable broke and I went tumbling Ass over Tea Kettle. Other than a couple of skinned knees and hurt pride, no harm done. I owe you tailgate cables Brother!

Believe that was an A/G Sega car. There were a few there. He was in the left lane one of the qualifying rounds. I had the only true street car there. Tires/ registration etc

You don't owe me shit man lol... I'm surprised that one cable has held up this long o_O on my 57 wagon I bought tailgate cables at the parts house and made my attachment points. Worked awesome  I'll do it again, just hadn't gotten there yet! Had a great time man, you're a badass for sure

This was a Sega car, he left Sega after Quain left. Awesome guy, AJ Russell, I parked by him Friday night and became friends. 287ci sbc, left the line at 7500, shifted at 10k, so badass to listen to that little mouse winding out! He ran 6.50. 20250705_173255.jpg 20250705_173257.jpg

  8. I will add a few pictures of the wagon, I did not get many good ones though.

It broke my heart to not have Stubby there, came so close but could not get it right before I ran out of time! Huge shout out to @Truckdoctor Andy , his Wife Tonya & "Littletruckdoctor" Chandler for the COOL T-shirts! The match race will happen down the road I guarantee:p

Very glad I went anyway, because even though the cars are what brings us together the lifelong friendships made through our common interests are what it is really all about. Getting to spend the day with Lloyd, Andy & the group was well worth the drive down!!!!!!

    God Bless

    smarter than you look!

  14. If you have access to a truck and trailer you'd be stupid not to trailer a car that you intend to race.
You just never know what can happen

Yeah.... I've gotta admit, I thought about leaving it the way it is, but the more I look at it, I think it deserves a resurrection lol... I'm gonna stick with my original plan. Just gonna be a bit, no time to be working on my own stuff at the moment. Plus I've gotta get the drag racing thoughts out of my head and get back to street car!

  17. Street car?? Drag racing is in that car’s heritage!! 28-9.00x15 Hoosiers, drive shaft loop, 9”.

  18. I’m jonesing over here for more drag racing and it’s going to be maybe a couple of years before I can build a car. We gotta get the Kids Shoebox done first. Hmmm, maybe Ron @55 Ford Gasser would sell me his Ford Gasser…….

  19. After things calm down....Maybe at Lloydfest '25 we will talk about this again. After we talked a bit about it Saturday, my mind started "racing" (no pun intended). We might be able to work out a deal:D

We need to get Chandler to a big show race. He needs to experience it at least once. Next year we can make plans for indy or Norwalk.

  23. That’s a fantastic idea!! Either one would be great!!!

  24. I've been threatening to do the Boothill Drags the past couple years, that's very close to my hometown. I actually had to go to Sikeston for trade school since my town wasn't big enough to have such things.
I need to get my Henry J back on the local track and sorted out before hauling it 900 miles cross country, I'm trying to avoid my prior catastrophes. Lol

  25. "Night Under Fire" at Norwalk would be an amazing first big race for him to see! Took Laura's 27 year old son to it last year for his 1st race....He was amazed.

@swade41 ...I would love to see your Henry J run! If you ever come over this way, Norwalk, Dragway 42, Thompson, Quaker City let me know!

I'm going to try to get to Boothill drags this year. Small track and a lot of fun. Been twice.
Been to the Rumble twice also. Another small track and a lot of fun.

  27. London was a small track too, and I much prefer them. My home track was Gateway International Raceway, now Worldwide Technology Raceway. I had tons of fun there and lots of great memories, but it’s a large track that has a National Event every year.

  28. This is a great thread! Thanks to Lloyd, Bill, Truck Doctor and all you folks involved. THIS is WHAT WE DO IS ALL ABOUT! Cheers buddies.
