    1929_ford_with_turtledeck.jpg

I've had this photo saved for a long time. I think it was taken in Australia. It appears to be a 1928 (no door handles) Ford Model A roadster pickup cab wearing the turtle deck from a 1924-1925 Ford Model T roadster. I'd love to see this car from behind and know how the turtledeck blends with the RPU cab. Any help? Thanks!

This appears to be the same car. I didn't realize it had a cowl vent. I also note that the back of the bucket doesn't look flat like a '28-'29 RPU cab.

Yes top pic is at the Boogaloo Invitational held at Wattle Flat Reserve in Castlemaine, Vic. They had two there then the last one was at a caravan park at Ballan. I would have been at the Wattle Flat ones ( only 10 miles from me) but I don't remember the car. Have they used the back part of a tourer tub to mate with the T turtle deck?
Aussie Street Machine may have done a feature on the car as they were there at both events. Great events focussed on HAMB friendly cars and bikes, pity they didn't continue.

That's an interesting combination that, to my eye, looks better than I would expect it to.

    Thanks for sharing.

Agreed, it's not just an RPU cab as I'd initially expected. Perhaps, as someone suggested, a phaeton that's had the rear of the tonneau moved up to the back of the front doors. The turtle deck also doesn't look exactly stock Model T to me from the additional angles of the new photos.
