Iskenderian, Hurst, Edelbrock, Moon, and more. how many people have a last name that makes a cool name for a HOT ROD car parts company? ... then we got Ford, Chrysler, Chevrolet, Oldsmobile... how many fewer cars would Fordmobile have sold?

ignore me, haven't finished my coffee yet.

  4. Ahh, the talented Mr. Iskendarian, a man of great character, knowledge and humor ( jokes that is, comedy) . Happy birthday sir.

Back in 1965 I went to see John at S&S Speed Shop in Richmond Hill Queens, N.Y. I wanted an Isky cam for my dual quad 318. He called Isky on the phone and after they were joking for a while, he put me on the phone with him. He asked me a bunch of questions about my motor, said good luck and told me to put John back on the phone. He told John what cam and kit to sell to me. I installed the cam, lifters and springs that weekend and what a difference it made. As a 17 year old kid, I told my car friends that I spoke with Ed Iskendarian on the phone. No one believed me. I didn't care, most of them were jerks. The Camfather was really nice as was John from S&S. Sadly John passed away some time ago, but it is nice to see Mr. Iskendarian is still with us.

ISKY along with Doug's headers were the first sponsors my late Racing partner Bruce Geisler had for our #219 Stude in 1961. Ed was always there for us and to this day the engine in old #219 still runs a Isky 505C roller cam and complete valve train! We're no longer running on the salt but when I fire it up for the crowd it still really gets their attention! Happy Birthday Ed and God Bless You! Thanks for everything!

Caught Isky hard at work, signin' stuff and talking to folks at the Meltdown Drags several years back.
He was just a young pup then, only 96!! :)

Happy Birthday Isky. A Flashback to Meltdown Drags when you identified this Very First Tech Manual you created in 1958 to help racers improve cam installation.

Thank You for your contributions to racing.
