Hello everyone, I am in the process of replacing my power window cylinders. Today I figured out how to remove the cylinders and window regulator from the door. After staring at the cylinders I figured that the task was easier than what I thought it would be. There was only 2 bolts and one screw... Now to the tough part, remove the springs from the window regulator. I was wondering if anyone had some tips from past experience on how to best remove the spring so the cylinder can be removed. I included some pictures, any advice would be appreciated. Thanks everyone.
I leave the spring on just attach the cylinder and pull one ARM up put the RAM in the notch then the clip When you install the regulator back in the door those two bolts in the bottom need to be precice to get the window to roll up,
Although there seems to be alot of pro's to go fully electric, for some reason I want to restore the hydro-lectric system. I tested the pump and motor and seems to respond to the switch when I toggle up and down so I'm thinking that all I need are new cylinders.. (well see). Noname - thanks for the tip, hopefully this weekend I can man handle that spring cause I know I got spring handled last weekend LOL...
Just an update - both driver side doors (4doors) have new cylinders from http://www.hydroe.com/ and the I also rebuilt the 4 gang switch from http://www.cadillacpartsltd.com/19wiswrekit4.html
