Am still recovering from some bug so only went about things slowly and achieved very little (found out a bulkhead grommet I was going to fit was too large, realized I cannot do anything about the heater intake gasket because no contact glue and left early when my buddy with the welder decided to return to his workshop later than expected). BUT, and it's a big but, 10 days ago I finally got my car past our inspection which here in Austria is as bad as a Japanese shakken. So no more "can I please borrow your dealer plates" for the next 2 years and 4 months. I also think the smoke issue is only partially fuel (well my plugs are telling me this) - my valve stem seals must be ancient now so that's the next thing. Need to weld a compressed air connector on to a hollowed plug for holding the valves open but as soon as the seals are here I'll do it.

@T. Turtle great result on the inspection. You can start using it more now

  3. Got non-adhesive vinyl wrap yesterday and spent a good part of the day wrapping wires. I could have done a better job if I'd wrapped wires from the start instead of going back and doing it after a lot of the system was routed and fastened down. It'll do. What shows looks good. I've still got to route the wires to the taillights, headlights, backup light and turn signals. I need to add some grounding straps to ensure I have continuity from the battery to the frame and body but I think this hotrod will conduct electricity.

Not today, but Thursday. Myself and another gearhead from church were asked to bring our hot rods to the last day of an annual training program for young adults with learning disabilities. The program trains them in life skills, necessary skills to enter the job market at a level they are able to accomplish, and of course social skills. I brought my roadster and my friend had his '56 F100 and his streetable '55 Chevy drag car there. Twenty five or so young men and women with smiles as big as all outdoors and hearts of gold seemed to really have a good time looking at the rides, sitting in them, and pretending to drive them. Some were joy riding, some were racing, and I think a couple were riding away to elope, if I heard them correctly. What a blessing to share my old jalopy with them. I was the winner that day. Of course I forgot to take pictures so I guess it never happened.

At least 100 breakfasts sold at our local club gathering. Not bad for mid winter day down under. IMG_6155.jpeg IMG_6156.jpeg IMG_6157.jpeg IMG_6158.jpeg

Thanks Tim, that's the plan, as well as doing a couple of mods I'll need to type approve ultimately... Without getting too much into politics (it's just as bad here as in the UK in case you ask), all I'm going to say is at least you chaps got rid of this PITA (MOT)

Today, finishing getting 32 ready to head out to Northwest Deuce Days tomorrow night or Monday, have brake lights, turn signals, interior reinstalled and no leaks. It’s an old 70’s build, and bee off the road for at least 8 years. I’d bought it last Nov and brought it home in boxes and a running LS7 BBC in the car.

Felt better today so went for 60 mile round trip, car behaved (used a bit of oil but it's those valve stem seals which I will replace). No problems doing 80-90 mph with that 5th gear.

  10. That Aussie Falcon behind the blue pickup sure looks tough. I remember they could take big wheels with no problems at all.

  15. I swapped the crank pulley on the Henry J, replaced the 25% under driven for a standard diameter, hopefully speed up the waterpump at bit.
I really wish they made all pulleys a common standard thickness so the dang grooves would just line up.

This was our house last night . Today it was icy cold , frozen water, and horrible fog this morning . Ok we will take the draughty cold 32 3W an hour away to a hot rods breakfast . The small heater never worked as the water temp never got to 100f . My wife said just rug up and tough it out. Nice day though and caught up with many folks.
