Man oh man what a cool car..... what do you think @Royalshifter ?? https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1...e=dm&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=2025-07-14
As luck would have it, while out on a ride, I saw it outside. Had to stop and check it out. Sure looked nice to me.
Just noticed in Connecticut where I grew up - may have to take a trip back. Wayne's a decent guy - no reserve helps ( maybe)
Question for the experts, the ad claims that front bumper is narrowed '41 Lincoln Continental. But looking at pictures, it looks different to me. The outer ends of the '41 bumper have a pronounced rib on top, and the bolt pattern is different. The '40 Lincoln bumper is also similar, but with more of a raised V shape with the most raised part right down the center, where as these ends look more flat. Is that bumper a Lincoln piece, or was there another manufacturer using a front bumper with open center bars like that?
The 4:11 rear - may calm that one down to a 3:31 to make it more highway and country ( paved roads) cruising.
You'd have to be the size of a shirt ****on to fit comfortably in there. I'm not so that counts me out. I would like to see a guy sitting in there for reference.
Please do come out this way. Wayne often comes to a local weekly cruise event in town at Hops on the Hill featuring an interesting ride. Fun to talk with. Funny you ask about the bumper as I looked at that for quite a while. From what I can see, it has 3 pieces. The L and R sections sure look like 40 Ford and the center section is narrower and don't know what it's from. I'm certainly not an expert though and the reflections in the photos don't really show it properly. Well, I think it may be a little more "generous" than what appears at first glance as the seats are pretty wide. Funny thing is that when I saw it, I noticed the driver side door was not completely latched. Nor was the hood. I went inside (mind you I was pretty grubby looking as I was going to spend the day in the garage after the ride) and told the receptionist my concern about the door given it was parked on an incline leaving the door swinging open a possibility. She came out and closed the door. I asked if she could open the hood and sent out a salesperson who came out to show off the engine. Pretty clean. Again, being kinda grubby, I didn't dare ask to sit in it. Had a nice conversation with the salesperson and left to finish my ride. BTW: I was told there's nothing in the trunk except the gas tank. Next stop for the car was getting detailed. Have to say it looked pretty good the way I saw it.

I had a 34 Model Y. Look it up and this is about the same.
What a master piece, but where I live I would be paranoid driving it. People nowadays drive like ****!
40 Pontiac, finally figured it out. That was bugging me but I'm sure of it, the bolt pattern and bumper end shape is right, they just eliminated the top bar and the bumperettes. So not a Lincoln, but a good looking bumper for sure.
I also thought that there wasn’t much ‘34 Ford left in there, parts of the rear quarter s and trunk lid maybe. (Although it did remind me of the guy that sectioned, chopped and narrowed a Studebaker and ended up with a car that resembled something that came out of Eastern Europe in the 1960’s…….…. ……...) At least this one is different as it looks like a car that anyone would be proud to own and drive ! .
Pretty cool. like most of it very well! The grill though looks like a after thought or replacement to me,I think it dose not fit the rest of design very well. As if it had something other then what we now see in the hole??
The upholstery, fender skirts and initial red finish was handled by yours truly. The guy used to be a member here. We painted it Rangoon Red as used on T-bird and Ford commercial vehicles. I made cardboard skirts so he could see it, took about 10 seconds to say "Do it...". Robin handled the upholstery in quilted vinyl. Yeah, the Mack Truck story is right. I wasn't cozy comfy but at 6'2" and 240 I could drive it. I can tell you we dealt with hood fit and little to no real body repair. It wasn't a rotted hulk. We got it running good and freshened up. Was supposed to debut at the 2011 Detroit Autorama in the ba*****t but he changed his mind at the last minute and didn't show, it was entered and it was ready. I had left the glove box door and dash untouched because it had some quirky kool stuff going on, I'd be lying if I tried to recall all of it but I remember water slide spider web decals and such. This was all before Wayne got it, and I think it traveled to the guy who has all the concept cars and such. I'd know his name if I heard it. A 13th donut for y'alls dozen
Wasn't this car at a Billetproof Detroit (Ypsilanti)? The car was "unrestored" with real old red paint and old white upholstery. There were some photos of the car from shows "back in the day". I think this car would have been at the Autorama when it was originally built during the 1950s or maybe in the 1960s, which had photos with the car. The owner was "fishing" for pricing and was talking about selling it. Am I wrong?
