Larry Watson

I posted earlier today about Larry, but I found this in my stuff recently and wasn’t sure if I should post it or not but my Daughter thinks I should share this for the ones that were not able to attend to keep the memories going about our friend. I sure do miss the stories and laughter with this guy.

It's July 20th again. Been way too busy lately to be on here much, but when I looked at the calendar this morning before I went to work I thought of Larry. Hard to believe 15 years worth of road has p***ed under our tires since he left us for those pearly gates, but I, as many do, think of him often.
So as you go about your activities today, spend a moment or two and remember the guy that changed custom paint forever. Rest in Peace Larry, you are missed..........E

 

Doesn’t seem like 15 years. He still comes up in my conversations all the time. RIP Larry

Here we are again, July 20th. It's always a day remembered at my house by family and friends. Sixteen years ago today Larry p***ed away, just one day shy of his 72nd birthday. Although his p***ing is getting to be quite a while ago, there are still many people out there that remember him and think of him often.
There will never be another like him who was a painting innovator, pinstriper, movie actor and on and on. He was definitely one of a kind and he is missed. Rest in peace..........E

 

Remembering Larry 21 July 1938 to thee night of 20 July 010. Still think of him and am disappointed in the number of young car guys that’s never heard of him

 

Larry is always on our minds and he and his work is a constant topic of conversation and inspiration in my circles.

Alas poor Larry, we knew him well, an artistic man of great wit and wisdom, he is missed by all, but by none more so than his family and friends. RIP Sir.

It's about time to call it a night in the Rockies. One last late night bump for the west coasters, and an early Happy Birthday wish for Larry for our friends in the time zones east of the mountain standard time zone. Once again, rest in peace, Mr. Watson.

In his radio series "Rest of the Story", commentator Paul Harvey did a piece about actor Micheal Nouri's Shelby Cobra restoration. He wanted it painted red. No color they came up with was bright enough until they matched his wife's toenail polish, and the Cobra wound up being painted with Revlon Nail Polish!
In the archived program (yes, I have a copy!) Paul Harvey mentions the "master of paints" who did that job. He's not named, but it HAS to be Larry Watson. Doesn't it?
Larry Watson was an artist, innovator, marketer and "influencer" before there was such a thing.
