Disc brakes and the work involved is largely overrated for a relatively stock 49-51 Ford car. Mix-n-Match systems are a blister in general.
I’ve got a OT car from 67 with 4 drums and searched for years why the original brakes are so weak. In the end I’ve decided to go for disks on front axle because the specs in the old time were so much lower than today that’s in today traffic it’s dangerous to be on the road with others. I don’t want to wait again 20 years to decide for safety.
