Looks like a 1950 Ford F-1 truck steering box .

It took me a bit to get over it, but the Willy's is like the old Astro Corvette....besides, you CAN'T see both sides at once!!!!

It's a 37-39 Nash steering box. Made by Gemmer, so similar look to the Ford pickup boxes, but configured differently.

Two full sets of wheels, not a different set for each side.

With/without the hood sides mixes the look up too.

I had to take the second look. Surprisingly I like the aluminum wheels on it better, but both look cool. The detailed design to make those aluminum wheels look pretty uncomplicated is really cool.

  8. Good guys did great with hot rod of the year.stuff.
Every years I’ve been to Nashville the cars are outstanding. The majority have a traditional look.
There’s always been cool vintage engines from Ys, Ws, hemis, inliners, flattys ……a blown early olds won a few years back

  9. I'm with you. I love painted wheels, but those painted wheels did nothing for that car. Maybe if it didn't have the flames, the painted wheels would look better. The aluminum wheels look really good on it. Nice car for sure.

Yeah they're not quite the right style of wheel that I like either, and that car needs something more race.

Here's Bill's post and photos on the aluminum wheels. I like that he goes into detail of the design and intent.

  18. I bet Cody's car is the only one that drove there, and in the rain. That should have got him something. All those cars are *****in. I like the Willy's, but was hoping Cody's would win.
