Anybody fooling with this monster. 5.6L, DOHC, all aluminum, fuel injected, COP, V8??
Comes in a bunch of different models, same price at the wreckers as an LS. Something different.

They are interesting but never been on my radar. Toyota 1UZ-FE, 4.0L DOHC, similar to the Tundra engine. I’ve thought about those. They are basically Toyota Northstars, without the head gasket issues

    Coil on plug.

Like most modern Euro and Japanese engines.

1UZs are all over the place here. Every second tow truck has had one swapped in.

Guys in NZ use them in a race series alot, one shop specializes in them, idk their name anymore. Skid Factory on youtube put one in an old skyline and it's NA with ITB's if I recall, sounds wicked, they do the whole shop visit and engine build on the series if you want to go look for it.
I guess they don't get any vehicles with them in NZ, so they import the engines from us.
I've also tossed around the idea of using one since I saw them do it but haven't pulled the trigger on one yet.

Anyone living on a continent where the Ford Coyote is readily available would likely be a fool to go with the oddball Nissan.

  10. I'll give that engine credit for being capable of making some power, and Nissan use to make quality stuff, but these days Nissan is garbage and how many older Nissan ***ans do you see on the road compared to their direct compe***ion? (Tundra, F-150, Silverado, Ram). As a matter of fact (I just looked it up) the ***an is the worst selling pickup truck in the USA, like even worse than the Honda Ridgeline and Rivian!

    I'll p***.
