After I went to get the car inspected I started thinking......Were in the hell is the vin number at on this piece of ****. Its a Bel-Air so its not on the A pillar. Does anyone know where it is? Or can I just not prove I own my car.

  2. If it's the original engine, it'll be on that. [IMG]

My (now FatHack's) VIN was on the a pillar, and I think somewhere else under the hood.

    Sorry can't be more help.

Well 50-52 the Bel-Air is the same as a convertible. Its not the original engine. No one has ever questioned me about the vin. But I'd like to be able to prove I own my car if I had to.

On a 50 -52 Bel Air the Vin tag is on the left door pillar between the upper & lower door hinges. That is where it is on my 51 Bel Air. On coupes & sedans it's higher on the same post, next to the windshield. The tag on the top of the firewall on the p*** side is not for registration purposes, it's just body style, color & trim info.

You going to remove the tag so you can abandon that piece

I've got a '53 hardtop and it's on the a pillar on the driver's side. The tag on the p***enger side on top the firewall is just the body, paint, trim tag.
