There are some really nice trucks in these pics. I like the light yellow one. But I have to agree to the nose heavy look. Always looked to me like a S-10 frame swap. Ford didn't quite have the spring in front of the axle perfected for looks in the pickups yet. Still, I appreciate any nice vehicles, no matter what make or body style. Dave
I really like 35/36 Ford PU's , to me they have the styling of what a 33/34 Ford truck should have looked like .(just my humble opinion, please do not attack me )
Other than the frame, fenders, cab, radiator shell, they're practically twins. You hardly notice the slanted windshield.
This pile was my daily for a long time, but she is just beater/parts hauler status these days. -Abone.
When I was in college, (1971) I heard that a friend had quit driving his '35 Ford Pickup because the frame rusted and it broke in half. Gave him $100 for it, found a free '36 frame and moved everything over to the new frame...took about a month and a half...drove it all through college. Even did an ink and wash painting of me and the truck for a college art cl***.
And how about a fake '36? Built this '39 Ford pickup in the '90s. Hated that '39 "toilet seat" grille so much that I adapted a '36 pickup grille.
Anybody recognize this one? Nice! It is on the speedway motors site https://www.speedwaymotors.com/ scroll down a little over half way
In my opinion, they're the best looking pickups ever made. And each to his own, but I like them un chopped. A nice stance, and correct wheel and tire combo is all they need.
I get that observation. If I built one, I would be tempted to use a p***enger 34 grille and form the hood to fit like a car hood. It may look cool with a thinner "beak". I may be full of beans. I do like beans.
"Johnny Rotten's" 37 is 1 of my favzzz. I also ran into this amazing 37 at the Rodders Revival in 2014 it's from Fu#%^&@ (interciurse) PA.
That looks like a Badlands tour bus. [Is there another wheel tucked just behind the front wheel? And dig the caster wheels on the front bumper.] My '36 pickup story: When I had a side hustle teaching welding at the local community college, a student brought in a cut up '36 cab and placed it in the dumpster out behind the welding lab. I asked him "what's up?" and he said his dad had it listed for sale on the internet. The buyer said all he really wanted was the roof off it and would he be so kind as to cut off the roof and ship it to him? The buyer later contacted my student's dad and said he made other plans and didn't need the roof. His dad was so angry he told his son to take the cut up cab to school and dump it in the dumpster. After cl*** was dismissed I retrieved it. It rests in my barn attic waiting to be turned into a bobber - maybe ******* with cut down doors.
