Hot Rods Canadian Bacon

  1. Happy Canada Day to the crew. Bought this ride just the way it sits, some changes planned but not executed yet. Been figuring her out and showing her off, humble ride but lots of fun. 197A802D-9F14-489D-A908-D41E6FDC7967.jpeg

Just pick up this 1955 GMC (with a 55 chevy front end and 57 hood). Has some rust in the usual spots, but overall a very solid truck. Have a lot of plans for it and hope to give it a bit of a transformation over the winter, and back on the road in the spring!

...this is a very nice time machine for @Olcars...it's at least its second generation as Canadian Bacon too...still find it hard too believe no old pics of it ever surfaced as it sure has the look. You certainly have done it justice in the resurrection...I'm not sure where you're going with the journey but it's really sending out positive ions getting there...

How's going back in time been so far?

It was talking to me as I walked by...I had to take a pic...now there's a name I've heard in old car circles for ions. Thanks for dot connecting Jeff. I hear you on the Spring trying to be Spring...brrr...your pavement pounders look nasty cool as always...it'll be a tough year but as long as we can get some cruisin in and have a smile or two...it'll suffice.

  12. Yes, cool day here as well. Was trying to get another engine ready for my 47, for some distance trips this summer, but keep finding issues from the original builder of it. At least I can still use the 47 for local runs. If I could find a good used, or even new(but inexpensive) 351W, I might just grab it and install.

Now here's some sizzlin Canadian bacon!!! The world famous Sydicate Scuderia dragster of BC's Jack Williams. Absolute masterpiece!! Remember my Dad telling me about watching it race in Mission. Wish I could have seen it run.

That's serious Rodding eh! Looking at the Roadster it's no surprise the Delivery has the look...Ricky has the magic for getting things right...it's obviously beyond looks too because to embark on a journey like that stuff has to be up to snuff bigtime...

Been driving the snot out of our 56's. The blue 56 left hibernation the beginning of April, while the black 56 has been on the road periodically all winter! Advantage of living in the sunniest city in Canada!

It was overcast, kinda cool and did get rained out by 11:30ish...many spots were empty due to the forecast...so because we got there early we did cover the swap...I did get a 32 front axle from a vendor but not at the show...I contacted him after when I found out I could use it in lieu of the 34 axle I'm running.

You should pop by and see him...the Willys is very close to its maiden voyage. I believe this is one he's had close to his heart for many years now...He's going to be repairing my Sport Coupe in the very near future as well...I'd like to meet you too! A group breakfast perhaps...;)

@Candy-Man's Wife's Merc...a beautiful Eastern Ontario Cruiser...I look forward to hitting the road for a tour with this group someday in the near future...a subtle but notable tribute to music in many details on this custom...
