Don't all of them have a tube seat?

Fronts seal with a crush washer. Maybe he’s using rear cylinders on the front?

He told me the brakes are the Lincoln style from Hot Rod Works. Yes, they are the 45deg inverted flare all the way around.

Some progress on the ‘29. The owner is starting to get really excited. The truck hasn’t seen this level of ***embly in 40 years! I keep sending him progress photos and he stops by from time to time. I should have him rolling by the spring so he can spend the rest of his days enjoying it! Thanks for stoppin’ by fellas!!

Looks tidy! What are the things bolted to the lower firewall? One with a condensor and fan the other with a polished plate in the center?

I installed a continuous use solenoid that kills power for the entire electrical system with the flick of a switch. I’ll put the switch in a convenient but incon****uous location. The plate covers the old bake-a-lite electrical box hole and I used a wire/cable gland as a p*** through for the ignition, tach and gauge wires. The fan and heat sink are the ignition module with a GM factory plug with pigtail that usually would be on the inside of a GM HEI distributor. It’s a very efficient and reliable ignition system that I put together and use in all my vintage vehicles. Just need a distributor with a magnetic pickup. Hope I answered all your questions Tim. Thanks for your interest and your post!

Making a bracket for the gauges that’ll attach at the base of the dash bezel utilizing those mounting screws…should look nice when done. I have made more progress, will post more when I get more pics. Almost ready to start hanging the fenders. Thanks for stopping by fellas!!

Still have to make the mounting tabs and weld them on. Then paint… but this gives the general location. Thanks for stoppin’ in fellas!!

Well, finally made enough progress for it to move under it’s own power!! Still some to go, but I’m on the downhill home stretch!! There was no wiping the smile off of Bill’s face! I have a longer video of him getting in, starting it and driving it around the block with that grin on his face. His first drive with it since high school almost 65 years ago! I will post that video after I edit it and load it to my channel. In the meantime, here’s a quick clip of me heading around the block. Damn this thing sounds killer! Thanks for droppin’ in fellas…enjoy!

here is the cluster finished up with the gauges. I made this extension panel for the wiper switch and starter ****on too.
Shifter is temporary so we could take it around the block. I’ve got something custom in mind that will slide over the nub then a through bolt.
    Thanks for stoppin’ in fellas!

Here is the shifter completed. Bill has a shifter knob he’s has for 50 years just waiting to install it on top of the stick. I’m more than happy to provide him with the opportunity to do it! Thanks for droppin’ in fellas!

How easy/hard is it to hit that dimmer switch?

No problem at all Tim! I’ve got it in the same location in my coupe and it switches very easily with the tip of my shoe. Rolling in high gear with your foot off the clutch it’s basically right there… thanks for asking!!

Down to the final minutia. I have the visor and roof welt on the way, I’ve finished the seats and Bill will be on the road. He’s over the moon and can’t wait to drive it on a regular basis! Thanks for droppin’ by fellas! IMG_6312.jpeg IMG_6709.jpeg IMG_6710.jpeg

Thanks Grump! He deserves every bit of it! The amount of BS he’s dealt with through the years, of promises then disappointment, since 1960! At age 80, he can finally enjoy it! It’s been on his bucket list, now he can check it off. I’m not asking for a dime, just seeing an old hotrodder enjoying it is enough for me!

I appreciate you guys for checking in and following at least part of the build. Should’ve started sharing it sooner, but you guys get what it’s about.
