Good Golly, that is FAST!! Old Hans has been fun to watch for years. I only wish it were easier to find that type of racing on our TV. I think Hans could use a five quart ice cream bucket to store his g****s. Thank you for sharing.

I realy got into fast bikes for a while in the late 90s, that was untill a mate came off and broke his neck in front of me at about 180. Loved my Dicati but it was time to sell and put the money into my car!!

That Dude drives like my girlfriend ... no, really!

I guess I can see why my dad would rather do this than hotrod an old car. I guess I can stop busting his balls about drooling over a BMW and not that 39 Buick I tried to sell him on.

Yeah he lived... I don't know how... I'm amazed every year that there aren't more fatalities... At least they paved the stretch that was cobblestone...

No doubt. The Porsches were a mere inconvenience for the guy.

Awesome footage of the old Nurburgring circuit - thanks for posting that!

But - the dudes who ride the Isle of Mann TT get the biggest coconut award. No roll cage, few guard rails, seldom even a hay bail, just flat out bookin down narrow country roads & through towns filled with telephone poles and rock walls hanging on for dear life!

Hans Stuck might just have more high-speed hours in the 'ring than just about anybody... He should know it.

His economy of motion is a thing of beauty...

Watch him at the wheel, then watch the guy in the Porsche...

    Totally different deal.
One is a full on Race Car the other is a Street Car.

Springs, Shock settings, weight, Ch***is stiffness ( multi point Cage ), Street Tires Vs Slicks, etc.

Of course the guy in the Porsche is all over the place....

Hans Stuck is one of the best race drivers in the world. If you watch his steering input, he only adds radical steering input when ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY and no more. Very smooth!

Speaking of the Nurburgring, here's that Transit van clip. Very entertaining.

    Maybe so...

You would definately know more than me about that. But it still doesn't detract from the beauty of Hans in motion in that car.... Every movement is perfectly timed (Except for one shift maybe). He just owns it...

The thing about the guy in the porsche is he seems to be fighting the track with the car. I've never driven the car but I gotta think he's scrubbing time...

But then again, I think I'm a better quarterback than Big Ben every Sunday...

    There is no denying that...:)

Honestly, I did not realise how different the 2 types of Cars are untill I slapped a couple of plates on my Racer to attend a buddy's wedding.
A full on Race Car is worse on the street than a Street car is on the Track...:D

Didn't read all the posts, maybe it has been covered before but, you can pay your fee, sign the waiver, have your car inspected, rent a helmet, and run watcha brung. Imagine driving around your rented AVIS Opel Astra, and have Stuchie p*** you like your painted on the ARMCO. And yes race teams test with street weenies running the track. OMFG!!!! So would you be lookin out the windshield or staring at the rear view mirror.

I believe that's the NEW Nurburgring track (3.2 miles)...not the old, 14 mile layout known as the "Green Hell"...or the older, 17 mile circuit.

The all-time record for the 17 mile layout is 6:11 by Stefan Bellof in a Porshe 956.

    Read on...

I did one patheticly slow lap there in my Street Car.

No Helmet, didn't even raise the pressure in my tires...

    Scary ****...

I had no idea when I came over a brow if the road was going to go straight , sharp left or sharp right.

A buddy of mine was in the P*** seat, he put his hand over the gap from the A pillar to the Door and he said " a lot of Flex in this Car..."
Yeah, no ****... I had the thing on 2 wheels a couple of times.:D

The scaryest part about it was that we were a couple of Hundred Miles from Home, and that Car had to bring us back there.

It did, eventhough I did some damage to the Engine, maxing it out on the Autobahn for too long...
