Always thought it was weird yellow is such an unpopular color when the American Graffiti coupe is so iconic for many... for the record, that car is far from my favorite deuce... but I would drive the right yellow. Lots of right yellows in here.

I like yellow and think it looks good with red. Many years ago, I fancied doing a T Bucket yellow with red flames but the closest I ever got was a 1952 Ford Anglia I had in the 1990s...

It was called 'Mello Yello'.

I've had 3 yellow cars; a "T"-bucket, and two Corvettes, a coupe and a convertible. I liked the bucket and the Corvette convertible; the coupe? Not so much.

It may be that yellow just works better on open cars.

  17. To me this is the perfect example of a car that shouldn't be painted yellow. It looked much better in it's bronze color. And wasn't it white also?

Some cars look good in yellow, some don't. No big deal.
You can name any color under the rainbow, and there will be someone who hates it and someone who loves it.

I've never been a fan of bright yellows on cars, but some of the paler lemon, or creamy-yellow shades look great (like Goldwood and Sunfire Yellow's on 65/66 vettes) and even some darker mustard shade yellows like UK Ford's Maize Yellow from the early 70's, which you can google as its OT for here to post a picture.

Okay, ya gotta take the good with the bad. Watson hit the mark with LeFevre's '59 El Camino, and it's what inspired me to paint my '58 Fairlane the same way, pearl yellow with candy green scallops. Lotta work that most people did not notice. Now the kicker. I yanked the "Nashacado" out of a bramble bush in Oakland, CA... It was still the original black paint when I drug it to Idaho. I gave it to a friend, and the rest is history. It's been 10 years since the metamorphosis, and it is still on the move. Original mill and auto trans.
