I could manage it on Sunday but the HHR isn't a great road car to do that trip over and back on one day with. Plus I am about 35 years older than when I did those trips to the I 5 corridor or Portland as one day events a lot.

The weather report for this weekend doesn't look good. 85% chance of rain Friday and 45% Saturday. Living in the Northwest we tend to ignore the weatherman and go about our way. I'll be patient and wait until Friday to make the decision to go up Saturday.

Weather report shows Sunday is the only dry day. I planned on going Friday or Saturday, but now I'm thinking Sunday will have the best chance of seeing more passes.

I still plan on going on Saturday, I remain cautiously optimistic about the weather, but I will be prepared for rain or shine!

What's the weather report up there? Looks like it might clear off Saturday with only an occasional shower. I'll take off early in the morning, a 3 hour drive.

Yep, @Bandit Billy , I have been keeping an eye on it, and my friend George who is down there right now with his motor home and his car says indeed, its going to clear up !

This morning as I was heading up to Mt. Vernon, to go to the 1808 building where my friend Matt Field
@Hitchhiker is moving his shop to ( Seattle Speed Shop ).

    DSC00860.JPG

He said that Paul, the owner of the building wrecked his 34 roadster this morning down at Centralia Washington.

He said it got loose on the road in the slick rain and it wound up on its side, so it didn't roll. Paul went to the ER to get a few stitches, and Matt was on his way with his truck and his trailer to get the car and Paul.

That is all I know about the incident this morning.

Matt says the car will need a total rebuild.

    This is Georges car.
I will see you all down there in the morning when the gates open at 8:00 AM.
    You all, drive safely !

    Thanks from Dennis.

Yep. Partly sunny. Less mud puddles than I expected. I saw Oliver earlier, I'm sure he will post some pictures.

I planned to go Sunday, but when I checked the forecast this morning it looked better than yesterday and no rain in it. I figured better to go today when it wouldn't be hot and it was perfect! Had two light mists so faint they were gone off my '39 windshield in a mile, and nothing at the dragstrip! Cars were running well, but it was a bit muggy since it rained overnight there. Guys I talked to said no rain at all on Friday either. Sunday will be even nicer weather!
Some really great cars that ran some scary fast times, plus a lot of others that were just fun to watch run, even if they weren't breaking any records. The Estranged car club is doing a fantastic job of keeping this event nostalgic, and old school. Only had just a half dozen or so cars from '64 or '65, and most everything was much older than that. We're lucky to have them taking on this job for the benefit of the rest of us to enjoy racing or watching. Thanks!

Found this on Youtube already. Rocky Phillps's Evil Twin doing his usual 1/8th mile burnout.

I too just now got back home, I did take a side trip to Pick Quick drive in, in Fife, for the killer Triple cheese burger, on the way home.
The weather was great down at TMP today. The mighty Nikon D-600 shot 520 shots which will downloaded to my external hard drive, and all of them gone through and edited and cropped and then down loaded to the HAMB, so be patient!
    Thanks from Dennis.

This is just my second year attending this, but as has been stated by others, the Estranged car club of Portland, put on a top notch event, and its very relaxed and very laid back!

These are the only quick grab shots I took with my smart phone, this is just a teaser I****ure you all, the good stuff, after they are edited and cropped, will be much more entertaining.
