Technical Can you identify this coil?

    Just came across this on FB marketplace. Hard to tell if the aluminum is part of it, or just slides on.

    The stainless band holds the bakelite top onto the bottom aluminum housing. Cut the band and the top and guts come out including oil.

    Clean up the aluminum and a modern coil will drop in, add a little silicone to keep it there.

    I've done several similar coils with no problem ; but guess there is always a chance of one that won't fit a new coil.

    Would have been nice if they'd aligned the mold halves a little better.

    It's still for sale...imagine that...I suppose being NOS in a box and no doubt a rare bird has something to do with the price...

    I actually might have one on the Ole Hotrod...
    Not...it may have been a similar setup. It mounts similar with 2 bolts but not the same...coil just sits in there. $129 at Summit...you certainly have options...Hershey might be your best friend...;)
