    I checked and Bones is 90, he was born in 1935. That is a ‘61 Olds next to him so he would have been 26. The guy in the seat looks pretty young.

    Mickey Thompson built that Dragmaster chassied car for record attempts in the mile and kilometer and those runs were sanctioned by the FIA and USAC. Thompson was involved with World records like that for Pontiac and later on Chevrolet.

    I wonder how they cut out those oval holes in the center of the front axle.

    I also wonder if it is strong enough for a full bodied car.

    My Dad did them on a milling machine. Seemed to work.

    Nice job. He must have had to reposition the axle for each hole.

    The axle on the digger in post # 4113 is even more radical.
