I'm seriously considering getting a set of trim rings for my '50 Merc and running them on the plain, stock 15" wheels. Can anyone recommend a vendor? Wheel Vintiques seems pricey, but I'm aware you get what you pay for. By the way, are Merc rims the same as Ford rims? Thanks everyone! Matt (unmolested, never cut '50 Merc coupe)
Nice car! Those are the rings I want. Are those factory stockers or did the factory also supply a wider ring held on by the hub cap? Matt ('50 Merc coupe never molested)
Found em on eBay bro. Those pictured aren’t the original ones. Originals are a flatter ring that covers the entire wheel hub and are held in place by the caps. The caps pictured are stock 50’ Merc hubcaps. They can be found also on eBay or speedway motors for about 50 bucks apiece. I have at least 5 or six different sets of hubcaps that I use, each one gives it a different look. Just a suggestion. Good luck!!!!
Thanks for the info! You are correct: the easiest way to change the looks of your ride is to switch hub caps/wheel covers. BTW, will Ford trim rings fit on Merc wheels? Are Ford rims the same as Merc?
Ford wheels are not same as merc wheels, yes ford trim rings will fit on merc wheels. I have a set of merk trim rings if any body is interested. Don
