Has anyone installed air/fuel sensor kit on a 4 Banger? I have found that I can use a small 12V battery to run the system. With my Reds Headers I have room for welding in a 02 sensor.
With the system installed how do you adjust the engine to the preferred air/fuel flow?
I am running a Burns Duel manifold with 2 Stromberg 81's.

the sensor must be a certain distance from the exhaust valves. I believe mine was 36". Probably use exhaust pipe after header or use a tailpipe pickup.
Also A/F mixture on older style engines and stromberg carbs needs to be richer than modern values.
I found 14 to one is too lean.
I made a chart of ratio at different speeds with jet size. Stock jets are pretty close for 1 or 2 carbs.
Free flowing air filters are necessary to get good readings.

I use a tailpipe mount for the wide band sensor. No need to weld anything. Gauge is mounted in a plastic tool box and clips to go onto the battery. Everything comes off when its not needed. I get 12.2:1 on a stock carb on a banger. Plug colour is perfect.
