That signature is "Nino Filipiano", the great grandson of "Juan Manuel Fangio" who was an Argentine race driver for F1 in the 1950's.

@duecesteve I love your buddy’s truck. I saw it in some event coverage photos last week. The Buick headlight bezels make it!

Here’s the progression of the model project my son ‘commissioned’ of me when he was about ten. He is ‘31 now so this project it aged like us.

v1.JPG Over exaggerated... this image illustrates that if you use a tub to build a bucket, you have the options available to go much longer with many of the attributes. It could be said that each of the bucket's attributes offers its own benefits. Same as the girls... :)

upload_2025-9-5_3-35-39.png Modified, 1929 Ford Panel Delivery
    Painted insert for advertising purposes…

    Hello,

The normal sedan delivery is not very large behind the front seat. It is a normal tow door sedan with the rear windows blocked out with metal sheets and the rear seat taken out. Plus a bunch of other stuff, but the point is that it is a normal sedan body with solid panels and a side rear door.

The one advantage the panel truck has over the normal sedan delivery is more room in the back. Not only are the doors smaller, but may allow opening inside of a garage, due to being separate doors, goes a long way.

Although, the panel truck is based on a heavy duty chassis, but can be made to ride as well as a normal size sedan delivery. If the rear side panel were to be replaced with glass, then it would be a 29-30 Ford Suburban style wagon.

So, thousands of mom’s don’t have to drive the huge GMC/Chevy Suburban SUVs to the beach or camping… or the crowded parking school parking lots... YRMV

A 1964 Ford Thunderbolt Convertible homecoming for “Friday Night Lights” festivities…Rumble and all.

    Hello,

The Ford Thunderbolts ruled the drags in the 1963-64 drag racing years and so the high schools with the mascots are right in line with a different way to show Thunderbolts. Custom convertibles with the same motors.

“100 1964 Ford Fairlane Thunderbolts were built (49 of them 4-speeds with 51 automatics), enough to secure the 1964 NHRA Super Stock title for Ford. The FE 427 engine was rated conservatively at 425 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 480 pounds-feet of torque. Estimates placed the actual output closer to 600 hp.” That is some thunder…

    Jnaki

As the new high school fall football season starts all across the USA, schools with “Thunderbolts” as a mascot, have an easy access to the custom convertible. For the old folks in the audience with old memories of the drag racing events of the past versus the current high school homecoming group riding in the open convertibles, a little history for all… YRMV

Who else has a 1964 Ford Thunderbolt Convertible homecoming parade car? Half time will never be the same, again…
