IMG_0274.jpeg Ok, by now a few of y’all have seen my Bonneville. I’d like to go to a 15” mag wheel but torn on what designs. Thinking about Astro Supremes chromed or Torque Thrust fully polished. Along with a white wall tire. Don’t know how wide of a white wall yet so open to suggestions. I want the car to look elegant and not like a cheep *****. Open to suggestions. You may fire when ready.

I could see Astro Supremes and about a 1” whitewall on that car. Not sure about Torq Thrusts. Seems like those are overdone and on way too many cars.

Also hard to beat what’s on it although guessing those are 14” and you are wanting 15”?

    Beautiful car by the way!

Supremes look great, but it seems only a uni lug design is available.

Jeff that was my thought also.
You bring up a good point, I don’t care for uni-lugs.

Chrome reverse as deep of offset you can run and clear the fenders, spider caps and around a 1" white wall. Had torque thrusts on our 61 Impala and it just didnt look right.

The 3 bar flipper hubcaps that were optional on '60 Pontiacs are really cool too, those would look cool on anything, including the '60 Pontiacs they were designed for.

Torq Thrust wheels look cool on the right car but I don't think this is that car, especially paired with whitewalls. If you're not going to run some kind of caps, I'm with Taboo56Chevy, some legit chrome reverse wheels would look great on that car.

The Supremes seem like they don’t hold up well on the heavier cars from what I’ve read. And I don’t like unilug and lug centered designed wheels. ET makes a decent looking wheel. Chrome reverse were a thought but I don’t like the windowless look of the modern wheels. One thing I do know chrome or polished the got to be shiny!

Pretty sure they make chrome OE style with windows. I bought some from Wheel Vintiques for my kids 63 Chevy pickup project that were cool.

Edit: Found a pic and guess these are even the correct bolt pattern?

Is that a 5 on 5" pattern? If so I'd say a mind blower might be Skylark wires with a Pontiac emblem applied vs Buick. Yes? No? Maybe?

Won’t drop it. The roads aren’t nice around here. It already bottoms out on every ant hill around here. Chrome reverse and spyder caps might be what I go with.

Factory aluminum 8 lug wheels are the best looking choice for a 1960 Pontiac. :) The originals were 14" but you can get aftermarket 15" rims these days.

Let’s just say my driving is to spirited for driving a low car. I liked the old 8 lug wheels until you tore up a drum or needed to balance the tires. Then you were in trouble.

If you change the wheels you will need to change something else.

Another vote for the factory 8 lugs. Sometimes the factory gets it right, really right.
Saltflats has a good point, aftermarket wheels kinda need for it to be lowered and maybe some Bellflower tips to make “the look” complete.
    That’s a beautiful, cl***y car.

Lancers, on a slow roll those four bars flipping, fantastic! Like the Highlander, Skylark wires would be killer as well. Sounds like it’s a nice driving car, still would be IMG_4280.jpeg IMG_4281.jpeg awful tempting to put her on the deck. That late 50’s early 60’s GM hardtop roofline is one of the prettiest.

There was a factory option spinner cap for 1960 Pontiacs that was kind of neat looking, compared to the relatively plain stock caps.

I must be getting old but to my eye, an otherwise stock car “dropped on the deck” just looks like it’s suspension failed.
I’m of the school that doesn’t think lowered with flippers is a custom. Either commit to de-chroming, lowering, fancy paint and a change of grille and taillight treatment or leave it stock and make it the best it can be. Just my humble opinion.

Skirts would be cool but I don’t think they would clear the slicks. Not going to dechrome it any. If I wanted no chrome I’d buy a new car. I love chrome. I need the car to handle better which is the direction I’m going in.

Yeah, those 10.50-15 M&Hs fit just right under there but I’m not sure they would clear the skirt latches. LoL

  30. Shirt latches can be modified
I’m removing the latch from a set of cruisers. The tire was close. Plus added more arc to the skirt to flow better with the body.
building a bracket to hook the skirt to the fender lip.
then bolt on the bottom like normal. No latch mechanism to rub the tire
