Before my wife and I moved to Florida I was searching on line and found a place. It had a 10 car garage with a house attached. I wanted to buy it, but she said no. We bought a house with a three car garage. My tool boxes are in it, my '30 coupe, my '48 Ford and her car. My spare parts and miscellaneous stuff is on shelves. I still don't have enough room. My daily driver sits outside. Why be normal? I'm Very Happy with my cars being in the garage. I have to wash and wax my daily driver monthly, and cover the windows to keep the weather and sun from causing excessive damage.

Sounds like a carport might be needed. If you do it right, and attach it to the garage, in a year or so you can add a side wall to it to help keep the sun and rain away from whats under the carport. Then a little later, add a back wall..........by then you might as well enclose the front wall too. :D

Had a neighbor years ago that lived in a corner house. The zoning dept wouldn't let him build an attached garage because of fire engine access. That was BS, as there was plenty of room on the corner to access the property.

Being clever, he got approval to put up an attached carport. About a year later he put up the outer wall, but it was still technically a carport. Then later he added the other walls and no one thought anything about it. Still there as far as I know as I don't live around there now.

Many years ago there was a 22 acre Ford plant that had closed near me, and while driving by it with my wife I told her "we should buy that.". She said "what for?". I said "it would make a great garage." She said, "you would have it full in a year".
