I would remove the inner panels long before I would consider adding heat to the outside skin.
With the inner panels removed, you have direct access to the outer skin. Those bent inner panels are probably interfering with you straightening the outer skin.

  4. Are you aware of special drills just for doing spot welds? They are like mini hole saws designed to go through just the top panel. They are priceless for a job like this.

  6. Park by a telephone pole and hook the come along to the pole with cable and then grab the section nearest the dent and "Pull it out", it'll come out easy and then a little dolly and hammer and you'll be "SET"

    Wonderful!!

    I’ll add my two cents….

There’s plenty of 1946 Fordors restored or in various states of repair.
If it was mine, I would get it as straight as possible.
I would get the rear window repaired where it will take a window.
I Would get things lined up where the deck lid opens and closes and will not leak.
I would get it as square as possible.
I would not do any final / fine body work.
    No bondo…
    No filler….
I would just push it out and metal finish it.
I would not worry about perfection.
I would try to match that maroon where paint has to be removed.
I would drive it wrinkles and all.
Like I said there’s plenty of Fordors but not many have survived such.

A little wrinkly but functional says, I survived and somebody loved me enough to get me going again.

That, to me, would look like $600 very well spent, but then I completely lack skills and I farm everything out.

Great progress, now comes the part where patience and the right touches bring it to the finish. Make tools if needed to get to the hard to reach parts, rebar works well. Less Is More!
