Damn, you and I are in the same business, I take some St.Joseph's Children's Aspirin, spray paint it with red oxide primer and market it as Stifcoxin. I always put on the box a disclaimer that it works 99% of the time because it is an out and who the hell wants admit to being that kind of 1%'er?

  3. El Caballo, hard to get around the national secrets act. They would be all over me like a rash, still pushing for something.

LOL you guys are a riot! I sell guns, knives and t-shirts at gun shows. It pays for my car hobby most of the time.

I always seem to have people give me free cars, many total shit boxes. Ebay always has a buyer, so I sell em and put the money into my projects. One mans trash is another mans treasure.

I have a home equity loan. It's an almost limitless supply of $$$. My heirs will have to pay it back when I go to the Big Rod Run in the Sky.

My wife is saving REALLY hard for a '96-2002 Camaro (hey, I don't care what kind of performance car she wants...she wants a performance car! The big question is auto trans for the drag strip and around-town driving, or 6-speed for track days at Road Atlanta). I just found out she's got about 5 grand in her stash. Good for her! Good for me is that when she starts looking around the house for projects that don't really need doing (I think I'd like a new faucet in the kitchen...Let's change all the light switches...I'd like to re-face the 3-year-old cabinets) I get to say "That's a great idea honey. But this time it's coming out of YOUR car fund."
Amazingly, my car fund now seems to be getting bigger as well.

  8. I sell replacement smoke to folks who have had wiring harness meltdowns. The UK is my biggest market.

Also have a little taxi business taking neighborhood kids to school..

I scrounge broken computers, rob the good parts and build a few systems here and there to sell for cash, seems like there is always a buddy wanting a deal on a used computer.

Of course a lot of times i'll give a computer away if they have the need and don't have the bucks...

I do custom work on other peoples stuff to fund mine. Also buy up deals and sell em when needed. The wife used to complain some until I sold one I had and got her the diamond 19 year anniversary band she wanted. She has n't complained since when I drag home some new crap. Definately gotta have a seperate fund for the toys.

beg, borrow, steal, scrounge, scout, sometimes even pay retail but mostly, shop a lot, buy cheap, build a car (or bike) and sell it to finance the next project which I always seem to have already......

    Doc,
How 'bout desk/support work for a security company - ala the Aussie version of Blackwater or something? Or somehow related to the equipment you used or specialized methods/training. Maybe find a niche in AUS that they need with rods..... Use that SF brain and get going!!
