An old thread popped up on a search I was attempting the other day and got me wondering about the car mentioned in it - the cover car from the April, 1963 issue of Car Craft. The old thread deteriorated rather quickly due to some issues with the OP and it was locked so there was never any indication of where the car ended up or if it was ever restored. I did a search to no avail. To jog some memories, here's the car in question...

Imho a stock 57 is much more appealing.

Bought that issue off of the newstand when I was 10 years old. My parents let me buy car mags whenever I had a little money ( what could it hurt?), and I must have stared at that cover for hours. Car Craft was a killer mag for customs then. Love that car! EDIT... probably why I'm so queer for canted quads to this day, and building a car with them, too.

  7. Based on those headlights, it needs to be in @Moriarity 's garage...if it's not there already ;)

Very cool to see the in-progress restoration photos on Kustomrama. It looked so sad sitting out and neglected in the old pictures, I remember that old thread. Lots of custom-haters out in full force on the last thread, probably why it got shut down. And I'm sure they'll be back, but I for one love it. It's not what I would build today, but it has great history and an incredible amount of effort put into it, and that makes it worthy of a restoration to it's cover-car glory.
